Beyond Understanding

There are many things about God that are beyond my understanding. But that’s because He is God and I am human. Actually, He doesn’t expect me to understand. That’s what He told the prophet Isaiah. “For My thoughts are not your thoughts, Nor are your ways My ways,” says the Lord (Isaiah 55:8, NKJV).

Here are some things that baffle me, and thrill me.

That God created whole universes by speaking them into being.

That each sunset reveals His glory.

That God designed each human body uniquely, including fingerprints.

That God’s creativity knows no limits. How did He think up all those ideas?

That the all powerful Creator designed me.

That God loved me so much that He sent His perfect Son to atone for my sin.

That God, who raised Christ from the dead, lives in me by His Spirit.

That God doesn’t give up on me. (“He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion” – Philippians 1:6, HCSB).

That God is preparing a place for me to spend eternity with Him.

Even though I may not understand His way and His working, He who knows all (past, present and future) understands what is best for my good and His glory. Proverbs 3:5-6

says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.”

“Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out!” (Romans 11:33, NKJV).

Do you understand why it is useless to question the Almighty?
