Play “Keep Walkin'”

Do you ever feel like giving up? I do. Life’s journey isn’t easy. But God’s promise to those who wait on Him is that their strength will be renewed. “They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31, NIV) I wish all of the journey could be made on eagle’s wings, but much of it is made on our knees. Don’t give up, weary pilgrim. God will provide the strength to KEEP WALKIN’.

Even the Praise Comes from You

Where do I begin to find a way to praise Your name
When the feeling feels so special, but the words all sound the same?
I’ll just get down on my knees, Lord,
It’s the only thing to do.
I can’t even start to praise Your name without a touch from You.

CHORUS:
Even the praise comes from You,
Ev’ry prayer that I raise comes from You,
Fill my mouth with words of worship
And I’ll give them back to You.
’Cause Lord, they’re not my own,
They come from You alone.
Even the praise, ev’ry feeling and phrase,
Even the praise comes from You.

The song of praise that blooms in me is one You planted there.
You give me the music to tell You how I care.
My life is just a branch, Lord.
Your life is the vine.
The melody that flows through me was never really mine.

Repeat CHORUS:
Even the praise, ev’ry feeling and phrase
Ev’ry prayer that I raise comes from You,
Even the praise comes from You!

His Eye Is on the Sparrow

Why should I feel discouraged?
Why should the shadows come?
Why should my heart be lonely,
And long for heav’n and home,
When Jesus is my portion?
My constant friend is He:
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

CHORUS:
I sing because I’m happy,
I sing because I’m free;
For His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me.

Whenever I am tempted,
Whenever clouds arise,
When song gives way to sighing,
And hope within me almost dies;
I draw the closer to Him,
From care He sets me free:
His eye is on the sparrow,
And I know He watches me;
His eye is on the sparrow,
So I know he watches me.

He Will Carry You

There is no problem too big, God cannot solve it,
There is no mountain too tall, He cannot move it;
There is no storm too dark, God cannot calm it,
There is no sorrow too deep, He cannot soothe it.

If He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders,
I know, my brother, that He will carry you.
If He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders,
I know, my sister, that He will carry you.

He said, “Come unto me, all who are weary
And I will give you rest.”

There is no problem too big, God cannot solve it,
There is no mountain too tall, He cannot move it;
There is no storm too dark, God cannot calm it,
There is no sorrow too deep, He cannot soothe it.

If He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders,
I know, my brother, that He will carry you.
If He carried the weight of the world upon His shoulders,
I know, my sister, that He will carry you.

Footprints in the Sands of Time

I dreamt that I was looking back from heaven
Upon the journey I had made from birth.
I dreamt that I was standing there with Jesus,
Discussing what had happened down on earth.
He pointed out where we had walked together,
And I could see His footprints next to mine.
They started where I trusted Him as Savior;
Two sets of footprints in the sands of time.

But then I saw something that was a mystery.
The places where it seem’d I was alone;
Those times when I saw just one set of footprints,
I asked Him where it was that He had gone.
He looked at me and said, “I never left you,
The set of footprints that you see is mine.
Those were the times, my child, when you were carried.
Those are my footprints in the sands of time.”

He looked at me and said, “I never left you,
The set of footprints that you see is mine.
Those were the times, my child, when you were carried.
Those are my footprints in the sands of time.”

When life gets hard and nights are long,
He carries me, He gives a song.
I am secure, I fear no harm
When I am held in Jesus’ arms.

One set of footprints; sometimes two.
When there’s just one, He’s carrying you.
He’ll carry you, He’ll hold your hand.
Two sets of footprints in the sand.

One set of footprints; sometimes two.
When there’s just one, He’s carrying you.
He’ll carry you, He’ll hold your hand.
Two sets of footprints in the sand.

One Day at a Time

How do I grow to be what I should be?
How can I walk the path chosen for me?
How can I make it to eternity?
One day at a time.

CHORUS:
One day at a time.
One day at a time.
There are rivers to cross, and mountains to climb.
But the dear Lord is with me
Each step of the way.
He’ll give me just what I need
One day at a time.

How can I learn all that I should know?
How can I reach the place I should go?
How can I make it when learning’s so slow?
One day at a time.

Repeat CHORUS Twice

(Third Chorus) But the dear Lord is with you
Each step of the way.
He’ll give you just what you need.
If He would offer to bleed,
He’ll surely give you whatever you need
One day at a time.

Keep Walkin’

Keep walkin’ in the light of God’s Word,
And keep on talkin’ of all the things you have heard.
There are people who need the message of hope
That God has given to you.
Keep learnin’ the lessons of love,
And keep on yearnin’ for all the things up above,
’Cause the things of this world are not gonna last,
But heaven is waiting for you.

Keep trusting in Him, don’t let hope grow dim;
Tho’ your path seems grim, He is there.
He will light your way, give you strength for the day;
Hear Him gently say, “I care.”

So keep on walkin’ in the in the light of God’s Word,
And keep on talkin’ of all the things you have heard.
There are people who need the message of hope

Jesus Is All the World to Me

Jesus is all the world to me,
My life, my joy, my all;
He is my strength from day to day,
Without him I would fall.
When I am sad to Him I go,
No other one can cheer me so;
When I am sad, He makes me glad –
He’s my Friend.

Jesus is all the world to me,
And true to Him I’ll be;
O how could I this Friend deny,
When He’s so true to me?
Following Him I know I’m right,
He watches o’er me day and night;
Eternal life, eternal joy –
He’s my Friend.

You Are the One

You are the One that my heart can turn to
In sorrow or in joy;
For You are always near,
And You will always care.
You are the One who will always understand,
And will always hold my hand when the dark clouds are there;;
And You whisper in the stillness,
“I will every burden bear.”

You are the One that my heart can turn to
When others turn away;
For You alone can know
And all my fears relieve.
You are the One who will always understand,
And will always hold my hand tho’ the tempter deceive;
And You whisper in the stillness,
“Let your heart in Me believe.”

I believe in You, Lord;
I believe right now.
Take this confusion and bring to me Your peace.
I am trusting only You, my Lord.
Trusting only You,
Only You.

Thinkin’ of Goin’ Home

Sometimes the way grows weary,
And the road gets a little rough;
And the strength to carry on is runnin’ low.
But then I think of the journey’s end,
And the joy of it is enough
To keep me goin’, always knowin’
Where I’m gonna go.

CHORUS:
Thinkin’ of goin’ home, and knowin’ I’m not alone
Keeps me pressin’ along
And singin’ a song of hope!
Thinkin’ of goin’ home, thinkin’ of goin’ home
Keeps me singin’, faith it’s bringin’.
I am goin’ home.

Loved ones have gone before me.
They are now in that heavenly land,
Where the struggles of this life are left behind.
And someday I will join them there
To see what the Lord has planned.
O happy day! Cares, flee away;
Heaven’s on my mind.

CHORUS

They Could Not

They looked at Him and saw a simple man,
A carpenter with healing in His hands.
They saw Him calm the sea and hear a dying man;
They saw, but could they really understand?
They could not, they could not;
Though they tried, they could not.
He was just a simple carpenter with healing in His hands,
But could they really understand? They could not.

They listened to the teaching that they heard
And wondered at the myst’ry of His Word.
They wondered what He meant about a Father’s plan;
They heard, but could they really understand?
They could not, they could not;
Though they tried, they could not.
They listened to His teaching about a Father’s plan;
But could they really understand?
They could not.

So finally upon a rugged cross,
They killed the man who would not suffer loss;
And when at last they took what willingly He gave,
He died, but could they keep Him in the grave?
They could not, they could not!
Praise God, they could not.
And when at last they took from Him what willingly He gave,
Could they keep Him in the grave?
Could they keep Him in the grave?
Could they keep Him in the grave?

They could not, they could not!
Praise God, they could not.
And when at last they took from Him what willingly He gave,
Could they keep Him in the grave?
Could they keep Him in the grave?
Could they keep Him in the grave?
They could not! They could not!

Looking Back

The journey is often long, difficult, demanding, and challenging, to say the least. The call is to perseverance. The apostle Paul said, “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.” (II Corinthians 4:8 & 9) The title song, as well as others on this album, encourages us to keep walking, no matter what. Easier said than done, but the effort is worth the result in this life and the next. Now as I look back on this difficult time of struggles during my “mid-life crisis,” I can see the growth I experienced and thank God for His faithfulness.
