Play “Serenity”

Previously I have always made sure that I included a few bright, up-tempo songs on each recording for variety. This time the selections are all calm and slow. Why this choice of songs? Why now? Maybe it’s because i’ve slowed down quite a bit at this “mature” stage of life. Maybe it’s the desperate need for peace in this chaotic world. Maybe it’s that there’s enough of the hype and high energy music whirling around us. Maybe it’s that I enjoy quite reflection. Maybe it’s that I’m thankful to hear guests say that they find my home a place of peace.

It’s probably all of the above. And hopefully it’s the prompting of the Spirit of God, who is the Great Comforter. May your heart be encouraged and your soul be soothed as you listen. In the midst of life’s turmoil may you experience a portion of God’s sacred SERENITY.

Looking Back

Amidst the noise and hustle and bustle of life, we need some quiet reflection. Some serenity. That’s what is offered in this peaceful collection of songs – some I wrote and some old hymns I arranged. This is a mix of vocal and piano solos that are an alternative to the hype and volume of much of the music around us these days. This was recorded in Rhode Island when we were living in our “cabin in the woods.”
