An Incredible Change

I cannot deny that I’m slowing down, doing less and forgetting more. But thank God, that process will not continue forever. There’s an incredible change around the corner. For those of us who have put our trust in Jesus and have had our hearts changed by Him, we have confidence that we will also have our bodies and minds transformed again when we are with Him. All I can say is, “Hallelujah!”

Transformation

My body is decaying

One mortal cell at a time.

A wrinkle here, a cavity there,

A limp and a half past prime.

But my spirit is growing inside me,

Being renewed day by day 

With love and grace and energy

That God’s power puts on display.

Someday He’ll exchange the outside – 

This wobbly tent I’m in – 

For a brand new permanent structure,

Forgetting where weakness has been.

I’ll be transformed in His likeness.

I can only imagine the thrill

Of leaving behind this carcass

And every pain and pill,

To run and leap like a youngster.

My body and spirit will soar

With the joy of jogging with Jesus

On Heaven’s eternal shore.

I don’t know what Heaven will be like, but I am excited about the prospect of being with Jesus and being like Him, aren’t you?
