A Way to Start Over
This is a poem I recently wrote for one of my granddaughters, but maybe it has a good application for all of us. Sometimes we need to bury the past and start fresh, don’t we?
New Beginnings
Is there a place to bury the past
And come at last
To peace?
Is there a place to reckon with loss
And move across
The abyss?
Yes, it’s called the dying place.
A place where Jesus welcomes you
To share His cross and deep disgrace
In order to start anew.
For after death
Comes the welcome breath
Of resurrection life.
You’re at the beginning
Of grander things.
So spread your wings
And soar above the barriers.
Be a carrier
Of God’s love.
Receive His mercy from above,
And watch Him lead.
You will succeed
In reaching His goal
Of making you whole
Again.
