Well, it’s that time of year again, and I’m on a new project. This is something for my family members for Christmas. Every year I try to come up with something different. Sometimes I make poetry booklets. A couple of years ago I did some small paintings. Once I did a family history notebook with copies of lots of old photos. Last year I even got brave enough to sew aprons for everyone.
I can’t tell you what I’m working on now because some of my family members read these blogs, and I want to keep it a surprise. But I enjoy the challenge of coming up with a new idea. Some of my grandchildren may not appreciate these things now, but I think they will as they mature. It’s something special to remember me by when I’ve left this earth.
What do you do for Christmas gifts? Try to think of something unique that will last a long time. That’s so much better than a gift from the store that might be forgotten about in a short time. Your talents are different from mine, but I challenge you to stretch yourself in some creative area to come up with something new this year. It might not take you as long as my projects do, but I like to start early and not cram it all in at the last minute. I have to pace myself these days because I can’t stay in one position too long. So I try to do a little almost every day.
Do you have any ideas yet? Think about it and let me know what you come up with. You like surprises, don’t you? Well, so do your loved ones. What can you do to show them how much they are loved this Christmas?
